The Newlands joined CFT in 2009. Michelle served as a parent leader from 2010-2018, finding her niche in ticket sales, then as Green Room Director and Troupe Mom. Michelle was tapped as Executive Producer in the spring of 2018. As the leader of CFT, Michelle desires for each of us to abide in the Lord’s presence as we serve in the present moment and dream about the future of our ministry. Her leadership theme is found in John 15:5 where Jesus says “I am the vine and you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” Recognizing the value of theater in the life of her family, Michelle appreciates how CFT has shaped the childhood of Grace, Bethany, and Daniel, allowing them to grow in their faith and in their gifts. Michelle resides in Marietta and she and Heston will celebrate 22 years of blissful marriage this year!

Misha joined CFT staff in 2018. She loves watching students grow vocally as well as in their confidence and in interactions with each other. She has been involved in performing arts since 4th grade with piano and vocal performance, drama, puppetry arts, and elite choral ensembles. In addition to multiple school and church productions, Misha loves including performing arts and music ministry as part of her service in international mission trips and outreaches. She is a seasoned worship leader, but her passion is behind the scenes: mentoring, instructing, and coaching others. Originally from New Mexico, Misha now makes her home in Acworth with her husband, Chad, and children, Seth and Reyna Joy.

Larry and Jennifer were introduced to CFT during the 2018-2019 season through the Hackaday family. Their son Micah wanted to get involved in theater and they knew that this was the place for him, especially with the family atmosphere and the emphasis on God. Both Larry and Jennifer have their Bachelors degrees in ministry and have pastored for the last 27 years. Before going into ministry, they both had experience working with sound and lighting for the churches they grew up attending. Jennifer has been around theater productions and music most of her life, and with the love she has for it, she strived to learn everything she could along the way. Larry started getting more involved in productions during high school and even traveled with a show, helping with the special effects. The Graweys have helped with our sound and lighting for several seasons, and we are delighted to have them officially join the staff this year.

To Erin, theater has always been a way to learn about yourself, strengthen your abilities, and learn new skills that help you throughout life. She has been involved in various aspects of theater since she was a young child. In high school, Erin joined drama, was a member of the International Thespian Society, and performed in every skit and play she could for 4 years. Since then she has directed church plays, worked as a youth group Drama Director, written and directed a one-act for a homeschool drama class, and in 2016 she performed as Dr. Einstein in Arsenic and Old Lace with the Bartow Barnstormers. Erin is extremely grateful for the opportunity to share her love of theater with CFT and the Omega 1 Troupe this year.

Angelica found that CFT was a great way to experience theater at a young age and she learned a lot of life lessons through the years. Angelica’s favorite role was Captain Alexandra Diaz in Atlantis, and her favorite CFT production was Pilgrim. She watched Pilgrim multiple times because the story was such a blessing to her and it nudged her in the direction of trying out musical theater. Since then, Angelica has come to love all things theater—from acting to stage managing to directing. Helping with CFT Summer Camp inspired her to tackle our promotions. Angelica puts her social media talents to great use, keeping our students and our audience eager for each new post. Her other hobbies include art, graphic design, and learning ASL. Angelica resides in Marietta with her husband/best friend/high school sweetheart, Aaron, and their adorable one-year-old son, Evan.

Kaleigh and her Mom, Susan, shared a love for Jesus, photography, and theater. Kaleigh honors her mother’s memory by taking on the role of CFT’s photographer this season. Kaleigh’s favorite CFT production is Pilgrim because she loves the way God used the cast to minister to the audience. Kaleigh has also performed in shows at The Strand (even helping to direct younger students), Piedmont Church, Tower of Talent, and GA Has Talent. Her favorite role was Lucy in Narnia, a GraceLife Players production in 2017. When Kaleigh is not at CFT or attending college, she loves to hang out with friends and family, go on road trips, listen to music, take pictures, and eat Chick-Fil-A. Kaleigh’s life verse is John 16:33, a verse that continually shows up in her life when she needs it most, reminding her to keep the faith.
